How to merge PDF files
- Select two or more PDF files from your device.
- Arrange them in the order you want them to appear.
- Click merge and download a single combined PDF. Everything happens in your browser — no upload, no account, no watermark.
When Filipinos need to merge PDFs
- Job applications: combine resume, transcript, NBI clearance and certificates into one file when a portal accepts only a single upload.
- Government transactions: SSS, Pag-IBIG and BIR online submissions often ask for supporting documents as one PDF.
- Loan and housing applications: payslips, Certificate of Employment, ITR (BIR Form 2316) and IDs — see Pag-IBIG housing loan requirements.
- School: merge scanned assignments, scholarship requirements, or thesis chapters.
- Business: combine invoices and receipts for reimbursement or bookkeeping.
Why browser-based merging is safer
Your documents often contain your TIN, SSS number, address and salary. Online services that upload files to a server keep a copy, at least temporarily. ToolsPH uses the open-source pdf-lib library running inside your browser, so files are read from your device, merged in memory and saved back to your device. Nothing is sent to our servers. This also makes it fast even on slow mobile data, because nothing needs to be uploaded.
Tips
- Too big to upload? Scanned PDFs can be large. Scan at 150–200 dpi instead of 600 dpi, or compress page images first with the image compressor.
- Have photos instead of PDFs? Most phones can "Print to PDF" or save a scan as PDF from the Files or Notes app.
- Password-protected PDFs must be unlocked with the password before merging.
- Name the final file clearly, for example Surname_FirstName_Requirements.pdf — HR staff appreciate it.
Example
A job applicant has a 180 KB resume, a 1.2 MB scanned transcript, and a 600 KB certificate. Merging them produces one file of roughly 2 MB, in the exact order the employer requested, ready for a portal with a 5 MB limit.
Frequently needed document bundles
Here are common sets of documents people merge into one PDF. For a job application: updated resume, transcript of records or diploma, certificates of employment from previous employers, NBI or police clearance, and government ID. For a bank or car loan: two valid IDs, latest three months of payslips, Certificate of Employment with compensation, latest BIR Form 2316 or ITR, and proof of billing. For SSS or Pag-IBIG benefit claims: the filled-out claim form, IDs, and supporting documents such as a medical certificate or birth certificate. For scholarship applications: application form, grades, certificate of indigency or income tax return of parents, and recommendation letters.
Arrange files in the exact order listed in the requirements and use a clear filename. Reviewers process hundreds of submissions; a neat, complete PDF makes yours easier to approve. Keep a copy of each merged file in a dedicated folder so you can reuse documents in future applications.
